How to get to Moonlit Sanctuary
Moonlit Sanctuary is approximately one hour from the centre of Melbourne, and is located in the heart of the UNESCO Western Port Biosphere Reserve. Come and see over 60 species of animals, and learn about our conservation programs.

Getting here by car

Drive from the Melbourne CBD via the Monash Freeway (M1) and the Westernport Highway (M780).

Drive from the Eastern Suburbs via East-link and Peninsula Link.

Phillip Island is less than one hour away via the South Gippsland Highway.

Reach us from the southern Peninsula and Great Ocean Road via the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. Searoad Ferries link the Mornington Peninsula with the Great Ocean Road every hour on the hour.

Getting here by Public Transport
Getting
to Moonlit Sanctuary by Train, Bus and a Walk
Regular suburban trains run from the city centre to
Cranbourne station. No. 792 bus runs from the station to Pearcedale, this bus
runs 10 times a day weekday, 9 times a day Saturday, and 8 times a
day Sunday. Travel time is about 30 minutes. The fare from the City to
Pearcedale and return including train and bus will be no more than $8.20 and
requires the traveller to have a Myki card.
Note: some additional services on
this route do not run through to Pearcedale. The bus stops 2 km from Moonlit
Sanctuary, or about a half hour walk.
Getting to Moonlit Sanctuary by Train and Taxi
Regular suburban trains run from the city centre to
Frankston station. Taxis may be hailed at the Frankston Railway Station taxi
rank, and the trip to Moonlit Sanctuary takes about 20 minutes while the fare
should be about $35. There is no taxi rank at Cranbourne Railway Station.
