Paw-sitively Adorable
Moonlit Sanctuary Welcomes Two Dingo Puppies
The pitter-patter of little paws has arrived at Melbourne’s award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary, with two 13-week-old alpine dingo puppies joining the family this week. The two dingoes, a male and a female, have been given fire-themed names, continuing the tradition for all dingoes who’ve called Moonlit home. The male is named “Flint,” and the female is named “Burnie.”
Still behind the scenes for now, the lively duo is soaking up lots of puppy love and affection from their keepers, who are dedicated to building trust and preparing them for life in their fur-ever home.
Life Sciences Manager Chris Freeman said, “We can’t wait for visitors to meet these cheeky new arrivals. Like all puppies, they’re full of energy, love a good rough-and-tumble, and will investigate anything they can get their paws on.”
As residents of an active wildlife conservation park, the pups will help educate visitors about the important role dingoes play in Australia’s ecosystem and to challenge the misconception that they are simply pests.
“The dingo plays a critical role in keeping feral predators like foxes and cats in check, which helps protect many endangered species,” said Michael Johnson, Director and Founder of Moonlit Sanctuary. “Education is key to inspiring environmental champions. We hope every visitor leaves with a greater awareness of an animal’s plight and how they can help halt extinction.”
Visitors will soon be able to enjoy limited-number Puppy Encounters for a close-up, playful experience with this “awesome pawsome”.
