As the General Manager, you will report directly to the Director and be responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of Moonlit Sanctuary. This high-profile role in the zoological and tourism sector requires a leader who can provide clear, decisive guidance while ensuring the organisation remains agile and responsive in an ever-changing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Shape and drive Moonlit Sanctuary’s vision, in consultation with the Director, and ensure the fulfilment of operational and strategic goals.
Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of the sanctuary’s operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment for both staff and wildlife.
Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial health of Moonlit Sanctuary by managing budgets and overseeing efficient financial reporting systems.
Risk and Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal, insurance, licensing, WHS, and other statutory requirements.
Innovation and Growth: Identify and implement innovative projects that support our mission and ensure continued growth and success.
What We’re Looking For:
A seasoned professional with relevant experience in a similar executive-level role. Exposure to the tourism or leisure industries will be highly regarded.
A purpose-driven leader with the ability to empower and inspire others.
An agent for change with innovative and entrepreneurial skills to elevate Moonlit Sanctuary to new heights.
Someone passionate about wildlife conservation who can build on current successes and drive the future direction of the sanctuary.

We are seeking a hands-on, energetic Kitchen & Café Assistant in our Wetlands Café.
What you bring
- You have previous experience in a cafe, kitchen, food service or catering role.
- You understand food hygiene and safety practices or could quickly gain this.
- You can pivot between front and back of house including taking orders, clearing and cleaning tables, arranging displays, and food handling and kitchen operations.
- You have excellent communication, teamwork, organisation and time management skills.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Cleaner
Opportunity
We are looking for a professional and self-motivated Cleaning Superstar to support our Visitor Experience team and maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our guests.
About you
- You have previous cleaning experience. Bonus points if this was in hospitality or tourism.
- You can identify what needs to be done and be trusted to do it. This includes general cleaning (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, bins), and sanitising bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- You are a self-starter with an eye for detail.
- You can take direction and follow health and safety regulations, including the wearing of PPE.
- You have a fun and friendly approach to your work.
- You are available to work on weekends (penalty rates may apply).

Customer Service Assistant (All Rounder)

Moonlit Sanctuary’s Visitor Experience team is looking for its latest Customer Service Super Star; someone who can successfully turn their hand to anything whether that is ticket sales, retail, hospitality, kitchen operations or cleaning.
What you bring
- You have previous experience in a cafe, kitchen or food service role, or even catering.
- You have experience as a Barista. Bonus points if this was in a busy café environment.
- You understand about food hygiene or can quickly learn this.
- You are comfortable pivoting between front of house duties including clearing and cleaning tables, arranging displays, and ticket or retail sales, or even cleaning, and back of house in kitchen operations as needed.
- You have excellent communication, teamwork, organisation and time management skills.
- You can take direction but also show initiative, ensuring a great visitor experience.
- You have flexibility to work on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
