Moonlit Sanctuary is an ideal location to arrange an excursion for Foundation to Year 12 students who are learning English as an additional language. We provide an introduction to the diversity and uniqueness of Australian wildlife including mammals, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates. Students are able to have close encounters with our friendly free-roaming animals and classroom animals.
Our Education Officers are experienced in intercultural communication and can adapt the sessions to a range of English language levels with a focus on experiences, using all the senses, and developing vocabulary related to wildlife and the environment.
Primary and Secondary students
The program will include sessions facilitated by a Moonlit Sanctuary Education Officer (supervision by School Teachers required).
- A close encounter with our classroom reptiles and invertebrates.
- A guided tour of the Park to observe and meet our diverse Australian birds and mammals.
And a Teacher-led session in which students will be able to access our Wallaby Walk with some Roo-food and meet our free roaming wallabies and kangaroos.
NOTE: Our programs do not include special encounters such as Koala Petting. If this is a priority for your students please advise us in your inquiry.
To inquire about Tertiary International Students please contact us at education@moonlitsanctuary.com.au to arrange an admission-only visit and/or a guided tour with one of our knowledgeable keepers.
